Alfalfa, a.k.a. Lucerne, Medicago sativa, is an herb used in the practice of hoodoo/rootwork/conjure primarily for money-drawing and prosperity work. Sprinkled in purses or wallets it will quickly fatten them up. In fact, that is how the herb is used, to fatten up or increase one's money and prosperity. For a simple work to draw paying clients or increase business, place alfalfa, sugar, cinnamon, coins, and a magnet into a bowl and keep the bowl near the cash register. A packet or mojo with alfalfa can also be kept in the cash register. Alfalfa, when used as a floor sweep, will draw in money and prosperity to the home.
Alfalfa is used mundanely primarily as a feed hay for cattle. Such hay will quickly fatten them up but also must be monitored as too much alfalfa can kill cattle by rupturing their stomachs or intestines due to bloating. Alfalfa sprouts are also sometimes eaten in salads.
On a personal level, alfalfa is perhaps my favorite money-drawing/prosperity herb, not referring to roots, that I use. If you cannot get or harvest your own alfalfa, the herb can be commercially bought. Just keep in mind that alfalfa is incredibly inexpensive. Therefore, don't be tricked into paying high prices for it. When I purchase it I spend about .80 cents for an ounce or so. Since alfalfa is so light one will get a lot of herb per the ounce size.
