South Australian artist Gerry Wedd produces a diverse range of works, from ironic decorative ceramics to edgy t-shirt designs inspired by popular culture. For 15 years until 2006 he designed for iconic Australian fashion label Mambo Graphics.

Gerry studied jewellery making, painting and drawing. He has a Masters degree in Visual Arts (ceramics). His productive relationship with Mambo Graphics began in 1991 and led to designs for not only ceramics and t-shirts but also textiles, posters, shirts, surfboards and metal work. He exhibits nationally and internationally and has work in many public collections, including the Australian National Gallery, Manly City Art Gallery, Gold Coast City Art Gallery, Melbourne Maritime Museum and the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. He has also worked in consultation with community groups to produce graphics and public art works.

A true ‘renaissance man‘ not content to conquer the work of art and design, Gerry was the lead singer of one of Adelaide’s very best local bands, The Artisans in the late eighties and early 90′s, they still occasionally play together today. On top of that, he’s an accomplished surfer, winning many state titles in the 1970s. His design work reflects his love of surfing culture, the beach, the ocean and Australia in general.
