We love when young design students visit the studio. It’s a good excuse to show our loft, to present our latest projects and to meet the future of graphic design. Besides, who doesn’t enjoy taking a break to mingle, converse and eat New York pizza?
14 graphic design students from Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) came through our doors as part of their New York studio visits. My partner Gabriela Mirensky and myself spoke about some of the rewards and challenges of running your own graphic firm. We also had little ‘show-and-tell.’ We were impressed with how savvy these kids are and by the insightful questions. They are very aware of what’s going on not only in design, but in contemporary culture as well. The students came with Marco Vinicio Garrido Felix, the Academic Program Director.
University of Monterrey is one of the most prestigious colleges in Mexico offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. We are excited about future collaborations between our studio and their graphic design department…but more on that on another post.
For now: ¡Nos vemos pronto Monterrey!
