The subject of identity is foremost in the mind of most designers, no less so in the collective psyche of Australian designers where the question of national identity has been at the forefront of creatives thinking for a number of decades.
The Australia Project is a series of initiatives set up by local creatives Animator/Illustrator Chris Edser, Art Director Scott Heinrich and Creative Director Yianni Hill. Inspired by time spent working at Fabrica (the United Colors of Benetton’s communication centre based in Treviso, Italy), The Australia Project is a call for Australian creatives to explore and redefine cliched’d national stereotypes in the hope of revealing a unique perspective on contemporary Australian culture.
The gallery of submissions has produced some stunning results from Australian creatives working in various fields.
